Artist Bio:

Drew is a photographer based in Bridlington which is situated in the beautiful county of East Yorkshire in the UK. Drew has enjoyed photography since he first bought a film camera as an impulse buy. During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Drew began to concentrate on his photography to produce more satisfying photographs more consistently. He read books and magazine, watched countless YouTube videos and most importantly, went out and practised with a more considered approach. Using the spectacular East Yorkshire coastline as inspiration, Drew enjoys photographing the stunning scenes around the Flamborough Headland and Bridlington. Drew also enjoys wandering around Bridlington harbour and the sea front including the beautiful Bridlington beaches. There are regular events in Bridlington which Drew also enjoys photographing, such as the Food Festivals in Bridlington and the Dickensian Festival in Bridlington’s Old Town area.

Drew has exhibited his work in the Old Town Gallery in Bridlington on a couple of occasions and has several images on display in The Echo Gallery in the Old Town area of Bridlington.

Artist Statement:

Going out with my camera is a wonderful way for me to relax and just take some time to be present in the moment. I love the countryside around Bridlington, whether it's the amazing coastline with its cliffs, rocky coves and spectacular beaches, local  woodlands or in other areas such as farmland or parks. I also enjoy practising street photography, especially at some of the spectacular events that take place in Bridlington. When I visit these places and events, I also find my eye drawn to the quirky and the unusual. This could be interesting people, buildings, objects or simply some interesting colours, textures or patterns.

I have two cameras that I use. One is a full frame camera, a Canon 5DS R which produces wonderful images with incredible detail. The other is a Micro Four Thirds camera, a Panasonic DMC G3, which is ideal for street photography and produces some beautiful images.
